Urban Malawian artist Shano Index has    officially released his much-anticipated album 7 Times, a 14-track body of work that showcases his range, collaborations, and steady evolution in the local music scene. The album is now available across platforms, with a full YouTube playlist already gaining  attention among fans.

7 Times feels less like a rushed release and more like a carefully structured project. From the opening track to the final song, Shano Index positions himself as an artist who understands both storytelling and collaboration. The album features a diverse lineup of artists including Zeze Kingston, Pop Young, Charisma, Teddy Makadi, Viddix, Hyphen, 6th, Sean Morgan, Sife MW, Emmie Deebo, and Malimba Music, each bringing a distinct flavor to the project.

Tracks like “Auntie”, “Zungu”, and “Yanja” highlight Shano Index’s ability to adapt to different sounds while maintaining his identity. Songs such as “Best Friend” and “Distance” lean more into emotional expression, while “Chisankho” and 7 Times reflect maturity and intent, suggesting a deeper message beyond entertainment.

One of the standout moments on the album is “Kuliri” featuring Hyphen, built on a Tale Beats cover, which blends familiar production with fresh lyrical direction. The album closes strongly with “Suzana”, leaving listeners with a sense of completeness rather than fatigue.

The early response to the album’s YouTube playlist shows promising engagement, signaling that 7 Times is resonating with listeners who appreciate cohesive Malawian urban projects. More than just a collection of songs, this album represents Shano Index’s growth, network, and commitment to his craft.
